Purpose · Our reason for being
To make everyday convenience more meaningful by connecting Hawaiʻi communities and visitors with Hawaiʻi-made products, local makers, and the essentials they need—while creating a practical additional sales channel for the people who make them.
The Gap
Across Hawaiʻi, the most readily available options are often inconvenient or filled with mass-produced products that have little connection to the islands. Meanwhile, Hawaiʻi has talented makers creating food, body care, gifts, and everyday goods, but many face limited shelf space, high distribution costs, and limited marketing reach. Mana Market brings local products into the places people already are.
The Experience
Each Mana Market machine is curated for the community it serves. Most of the assortment will feature Hawaii-made goods, locally owned brands, and artisan products, supported by a smaller selection of dependable essentials such as water, snacks, sunscreen, and personal-care items.
Where We Start
We will begin with one machine at Queen Kaʻahumanu Center. This focused 90-day pilot will measure real customer demand, refine the product mix, and establish accurate operating numbers before a second machine or broader expansion is considered.
Founder-led from the start
Mana Market is built by a Hawaiʻi founder who is closely involved in every part of the work, from choosing products to building relationships with makers. We stay hands-on, purposeful, and evidence-led, and we grow the team only as the community and the work call for it.
Growth guided by results
The machines are a starting point, not a limit on the vision. We will let real community results guide each next step. If the model proves itself, the longer-term hope is to explore physical storefronts that give Hawaiʻi makers more space and customers a richer local shopping experience. Nothing beyond the pilot is committed today.
The Name
Mana is understood as spiritual power, energy, and life force flowing through people, places, and things. For Mana Market, community is part of that energy: the makers, workers, families, and visitors who keep Hawaiʻi moving. Our name reminds us to build in a way that honors and gives back to every place we serve.
Beyond the machine
Every product has a story.
A QR code planned for the side of each machine will lead to our online product directory, where customers can learn about the products and the makers behind them. We also hope to offer ways to shop from our website, including links to purchase directly from participating makers or other retailers.
Where an affiliate partnership is available, Mana Market may earn a commission on qualifying purchases made through those links at no additional cost to the customer. Affiliate links will be clearly disclosed. Expanded shopping options are planned, subject to partner agreements; direct checkout on Mana Market is not currently available.
